Candidates will undertake an online multiple-choice assessment and will receive a certificate if successful (any certificates from an official awarding body are sent to you via email).

Course Syllabus

  • Course Introduction

This unit provides an introduction to the Introduction to Neurodiversity course, outlining the course structure and how the rest of the units cover the course content.

  • What is Neurodiversity?

To get our course underway, we look at the history and application of the term "neurodiversity", and define some common vocabulary that will underpin topics covered in the rest of the course.

  • Common Neurodevelopmental Differences Part 1

We're now going to begin examining some common neurodevelopmental differences, starting with autism, Asperger's and ADHD. We'll define what each of these conditions is and outline the way these differences can affect people's lives.

  • Common Neurodevelopmental Differences Part 2

We will continue our exploration of common neurodevelopmental differences by looking at dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia, to name a few. Again, we will define what each of these conditions is and explain the way these differences can affect people's lives.

  • Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Now it is time to turn our attention to neurodiversity in the workplace and explore how employers and employees can make small changes to accommodate the needs of neurodiverse people, from recruitment and the hiring process, through to office layouts.

  • Lasting Thoughts

We are now on the final unit of this Introduction to Neurodiversity course. We'll leave you with some lasting thoughts about neurodiversity, as well as introduce you to a remarkable individual.

Obtaining your certificate

You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
