Course Syllabus

  • Course Introduction

This unit provides an introduction to the Equality and Diversity course, outlining the course structure and how the rest of the units cover the course content.

  • Key Terms and Responsibilities

We begin the course with a look at some key definitions that will help cement your understanding of equality and diversity principles, and provide you with foundational knowledge for the rest of the course. This unit also explores what the ideal workplace looks like and provides information about employees' and employers' legal responsibilities.

  • Unacceptable Behaviour in the Workplace

Now it is time to look at the different types of unacceptable behaviour. By the end of this unit, you will have a good understanding of the signs of inappropriate behaviour and how you can challenge and prevent it from happening.

  • The Protected Characteristics

We will look at each of the 9 protected characteristics that are within The Equality Act 2010, examining behaviour to avoid and employers' and employees' responsibilities regarding each characteristic.

  • Practical Action

We are now on the final unit of this Equality and Diversity course. We'll learn about the 5 steps you and your organisation can take to work towards the goal of the ideal workplace. We'll also take a look at allyship and positive action, as well as the benefits of equality and diversity.
