Course Syllabus

  • Course Introduction

This unit provides an introduction to the Intermediate Microsoft Excel course, outlining the course structure and how the rest of the units cover the course content.

  • Pivot Tables & Charts

We begin the course with a look at what pivot tables and pivot charts are. This unit also provides demonstrations for how to insert and edit pivot tables and charts in Excel, as well as the advantages of using pivot tables and charts.

  • Data Validation

Now it is time to look at data validation. By the end of this unit, you will have a good understanding of what data validation is, the different types of data validation you can set, and how to set data validation.

  • Conditional Formatting

We will look at what conditional formatting is, the various kinds of conditional formatting you can set for data, different rules you can apply through conditional formatting and how to apply conditional formatting to a set of data, as well as the positives of using this function.

  • Sparklines

We are now halfway through this Intermediate Microsoft Excel course. We'll explore what sparklines are, the different kinds of sparklines you can create in Excel, and how to create sparklines in a spreadsheet, as well as the convenience of using sparklines.

  • Text to Columns

In our penultimate unit, we'll examine the text to columns function, covering what it is, how you can apply it to a table of data, and why it's advantageous to use it.

  • Functions & Formulas

We are now on the final unit of this Intermediate Microsoft Excel course. We'll learn the difference between a function and a formula, and explore the different functions you can use, including what each function does. This unit also covers writing your own formulas and the benefits of using functions and formulas.
