    Your first exercise to get you thinking. As a starters we will be looking at substances that we may encounter everyday but are hazardous nonetheless.


  • Case Studies

    We will outline two examples of how misuse of hazardous substances have left employees with permanent injuries.


  • Module Introduction

    Our next module starts with an introduction to recap where we are in the course and outline the learning objectives of this section.


  • Risks Posed by Hazardous Substances

    Time to look in detail at the different types of hazardous substances and how they can affect us.


  • Risk Assessments

    In this unit, we explore risk assessments; explaining their purpose and an approach to carrying them out effectively.


  • Exercise 2: Evaluation of Risk

    This exercise helps you explore how risks can be evaluated in terms of its frequency and the harm it can do.


  • Risk Control Hierarchies

    A risk control hierarchy, as the name suggests, provides a layer approach to managing the risk created by a hazardous substance.


  • Information and Symbols

    Now it is time to get familiar with the different symbols you may see when you encounter hazardous substances.


  • Procedures for Dealing with an Incident

    There should be procedures in place wherever there are risks of incidents concerning hazardous substances.


  • Monitoring and Surveillance

    As you are probably aware by now, monitoring and surveillance are key activities to ensure that organisations remain compliant with their obligations.


  • Exam Preparation
