Overview
This course is designed to help you to understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace, and how fire risk is controlled in the workplace.
The course allows you to build your knowledge of fire safety and make your workplace safer, and includes:
- Narrated video-lessons with English subtitles available
- Interactive recap activities and quizzes
- A mock exam, complete with review facility and a bank of changing questions
You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain the official qualification. This exam can be taken on a laptop with a camera in a suitably quiet location. Your activity on the screen and via the webcam is recorded during the whole assessment and reviewed by the examining body. Upon passing the exam, you will receive an official certificate.

In this unit, we will start with the basic theory of fire safety, before moving on to cover important terms, hazards and common causes of fire in the workplace.

Workplace fire safety and your responsibilities
In this unit, you will learn how to reduce likelihood of fire, the specialised roles during fire evacuation and fire risk assessments.

Fire prevention
In this unit, we will look at principles of fire prevention, from fire signage to raising the alarm.

In this unit, we will focus on classes of fire and fire extinguishers.

Other fire suppression systems
In this unit, we will continue to look at other fire suppression systems, such as fire blankets, sprinklers and fire doors.

Obtaining your certificate
You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam after you have completed the course in order to gain the official qualification. But don’t worry – we will ensure that you are well prepared with our revision module and mock exam.
