Overview

Whether you’re looking to improve your business judgement or simply learn a new skill which can be applied in everyday life, our course will teach you how to create goals of negotiation and pinpoint your own negotiation style, as well as the different negotiation tools you can use.


Candidates will undertake an online multiple-choice assessment and will receive a certificate if successful (any certificates from an official awarding body are sent to you via email).

  • Course Introduction

    This introductory unit gives a complete overview of the course.


  • What is Negotiation?

    To begin, we will introduce the art of negotiation, starting with defining it and assessing whether or not negotiation is the right choice for a situation. We will then introduce some common examples of negotiations that can be found in everyday life.


  • Establishing your Goals

    In this section, we will explore how to assess your goals in any negotiation and your negotiation style, as well as how thought-based biases can influence negotiation. We will also introduce some key negotiation concepts.


  • Types of Negotiation

    Now we will guide you through some examples of the different forms negotiations can take, and the frameworks through which to approach them.


  • Negotiation Tools

    In the penultimate unit of this course, we will explore some of the key tools used by good negotiators.


  • Negotiation in Action

    The final unit of this course examines some of the contexts of negotiation in action, such as cultural differences, legal duties, and ethical standards.
