Overview

We begin the course with a look at what we mean by the term "online safety", types of internet use, and the scale of internet use in children. This unit also provides an overview of issues and risks, and the risks for educational professionals.

The Dangers of Unsafe Internet Usage
Now it is time to look at the different types of harmful content, such as pornography, misinformation, and cyberbullying. By the end of this unit, you will have a good understanding of the dangers of online challenges, gaming and internet fraud.

Preventing Unsafe Internet Usage
We will look at how parents can set controls on devices and monitor content, as well as how to build digital resilience in children and prevent and deal with online sexual abuse.

Encouraging Safe Internet Usage
We are now on the final unit of this Safe Internet Usage course. We'll explore safe internet use agreements, combating misinformation and dealing with online challenges, as well as tackling online pornography and sexting, and preventing online fraud.
